HCTAM—Healthcare Trustee Association of Montana, MHA—An Association of Health Care Providers and MHREF—Montana Health Research and Education Foundation, invite you to attend a Trustee Education Session.
As a member of your hospital’s board, it is imperative that you are aware and active in the issues surrounding organizational culture and preparing your organization for a vision of the future. By becoming an effective leader can you help your board move towards these goals.
This presentation, based on the article written by now retired Harvard Business Professor, John Kotter, “What Leaders Really Do,” breaks down the fundamental differences between a manager, one who addresses complex systems, and a leader, one who helps cope with change, and discusses the importance and need for both in running a complex organization.
Scott A. Duke and Trent Lear will use this article as a background to their presentation on how to effectively use both managers and leaders in successfully operating a hospital, through examples of programs that Glendive Medical Center has instituted to help lead their organization through workforce issues, cultural change and looking toward the future.
This highly engaging presentation will combine information and useful tools with real time examples here in Montana on how to become a more effective leader on your board and how to initiate the programs that will ensure that your hospital is ready to handle the changes of the future.
